want to congratulate the many Friends, actors and others in the community w=
ho
volunteered for the Halloween event.
We are always impressed with how well this event comes together each
year. Shirley did a wonderful job of organizing EVERYTHING this year, as we=
ll
as getting donations of items, all with the help of several others. As you will no doubt read el=
sewhere
in the newsletter, you had almost 600 people tour the cave this year - all
within three hours each night!
I would personally like to thank Suva Bastin,
Adam Neblett, David Britton and Nathan Smith for
their help with carving the jack-o-lanterns, and Adam and David for helping=
me
to place them in the cave. =
p>
Some of our
winter birds have arrived - White-throated Sparrows, Juncos, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Am=
erican
Coots, Pied-billed Grebes - all have been spotted this month. The trees are finally beginning to
change color -
fall is here! We are doing many scho=
ol
field trips, and continue our weekend cave hikes. We want to=
thank

paid attendees and brought in over $3000. Many thanks to the voluntee=

including Shirley Berardo for the promotion and
organization, Bill Larson for getting the many donations and making sure the
actors were fed and watered. Thank you Ellie Ellis and the wonderful
