Cave Gate Dedication and Dunbar Cave Day
What a fantastic event we had on July 29! The Cave Gate Dedication and Dunbar Cave Day was a huge success.
When it started raining at 9:30, everyone thought "Oh No! It's never rained on any of our events" but then it cleared off and then the sun came out. Amazing!
There aren't enough accolades for those folks that were there that day and spent most if not all of the day helping out.
Steve & Debbie Hamilton, David Boen, Ron Hunter, Dianne Todd, Al Radford were there early in the morning setting up.
The Berardos were absolutely marvelous in manning the membership and t-shirt table all day!
Al Radford set up the fantastic sound system early in the morning and was there all day. The sound quality was superb and was needed in order for the 200+ people that attended the dedication to hear the speakers.
Brenda Radford gave a great speech concerning the Friends of Dunbar Cave. Jerry Clark was recognized for his work towards getting the new cave gate installed.
Debbie Boen made buttons that were appreciated by all. Barbara Wilbur had Cave Art t-shirts made and they were a hit.
The music by “String Legacy” and “Red River Breeze” was fantastic! We’ll make sure to provide a fan next time for them. The audience
set in the cool breeze of the cave but cool air doesn’t rise we discovered!
We gained a slew of new members. Donations to the organization were plentiful.
Beverly Fisher, Kitty Madden, Jill Eichhorn, Barry Kitterman, Joe, Sally, Eric, &Ian Schiller, Debbie & David Boen, Steve & Debbie Hamilton, Gregg Bush, and Ranger Adam put it all away at the end of the day.
